How to Choose a Raincoat

The sales are in full swing at the moment, and you’ll know that the sales are a good time to buy a new winter coat or raincoat. While black is a practical colour – let’s experiment this year and inject a bit of colour into our outer wear, to brighten the gloomy winter days.

How to choose the perfect colour for you…

For spring skin tones: Choose 1, 2, 5, and 7

For summer skin tones: Choose 1, but try to find a paler camel colour, almost beige. If not too dark 7 would also work, and 8 if not too bright.

For autumn skin tones: 1, 2, 3, and 7

For winter skin tones: 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 – if you opt for red make sure that it’s more of a vermilion rather than a bright cherry red.

If you’ve had a Colour Analysis you’ll find your best colour of these examples in your swatches.

Styling Tips: Remember to avoid a double breasted coat if you’ve got a full bust (single breasted is better for you). If you’re an hourglass a belted coat will emphasize your curves, and A-line shape is great for pear shapes. Look taller and slimmer with a single zip front as in No.4 above.
