Three Colours for SS08...
Blue: One of the seasons’ key trends is for Cobalt
Blue – you’ll find it in tops, as the colour accent in
Prince of Wales check trousers and beautiful blue
handbags abound! Nicole Kidman has already
taken up this trend - she was a kaleidoscope of
colour while dining with husband Keith Urban in
Sydney this week. The actress wore a graphic-print
dress with peep-toe flats and a cobalt-blue
accessory in her hair.

Ultraviolet: After winters glorious rich purples the
colour turns paler but no less vibrant with glorious
iridescent lilacs – prettier than pink – and so
wearable!

Ombre: A shading technique that can be produced
in any colour (see below). Always ahead of the
trends, Top Shop along with other high street stores
has been fast to latch on to “Ombre”. The trend is
set to continue into spring and summer. This is
great news for those of us who have heavier lower
halves – look out for garments where the darker
tone covers your widest part for a slimming look.

Ombre n. A French term meaning "shaded." Usually a
multicoloured stripe, with colours graduating from light to
dark. The colour effect is woven into the fabric. Generally
produced by arranging different tones in the warp.
